We propose a project focused on computational modelling of effects of addictive drugs on the circuits in the dopaminergic and fronto-cortical brain systems. The specific project for the rotation will be designed together with the students, and will be a part of the ongoing effort in the team. Possible specific topics include: computational modelling of nicotine and alcohol interactions, effects of alcohol on goal representations in the pre-frontal cortex, effects of addictive drugs on the interplay between homeostatic control and motivation.
