Using the zebrafish larva as the experimental model and a multidisciplinary approach, including twophoton calcium imaging to monitor activity of neural networks, motor behaviours, genetic engineering techniques to label, monitor and manipulate activity of specific neurons or entire circuits and mathematical methods for data analysis, we are studying the following subjects:

Le cervelet constitue une région quasi idéale pour aborder ces questions à différents niveaux. Il a une architecture cellulaire et un réseau de connexions simples et décrits en détail. Le cervelet joue un rôle essentiel dans l’apprentissage et la coordination de l’activité motrice. Son rôle dans l’apprentissage de réflexes conditionnés comme le réflexe vestibulooculaire (qui permet de maintenir la stabilité de l’image sur la rétine lorsque la tête tourne) a été démontré.
