Founders

THE ENP was created in March, 2007 by The Ministry of Research and Higher education as " Thematic Network of Advanced Research ".

Three researches institutes: The Commissariat à l'énergie atomique (CEA) [French Atomic Energy Commission], the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) [the French National Center for Scientific Research], the Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale (Inserm) [the French National Institute for Health and Medical Research]

Two universities:  The Paris-Sud-11 University, and the Pierre & Marie Curie University (UPMC).
