Membrane expansion in neuronal growth

GALLI Thierry

recruited as PostDoc at University of California, San Francisco - Yuh Nung Jan's lab.

Year 1

Biography/CV

Maja studied membrane expansion during neuronal growth during her PhD. She contributed to an investigation of vesicular and target SNARE proteins on mouse phenotypes. Knock-out of the tetanus neurotoxin-insensitive vesicular-associated membrane protein (TI-VAMP) resulted in decreased brain weight, larger third ventricle volume, and higher anxiety. Get more details in the article:

Danglot L et al. Absence of TI-VAMP/Vamp7 leads to increased anxiety in mice. J Neurosci. 8 Feb 2012. 32(6):1962-8.

Key words: TI-VAMP Vamp7 Anxiety Vesicular SNARE proteins
